About the Installation

Created for the newly renovated Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile, Today Is A New Day welcomes guests immediately upon entering the hotel's public lobby.

Developed in collaboration with Anderson/Miller Ltd., the sculpture was designed as a bold, welcoming focal point for the space. Four stacked phrases, Today Is A New Day, rise vertically in layered forms, creating a composition that changes as guests move around it. The multiple painted layers reveal subtle bands of color along the sculpture's edges, giving the work depth while echoing the warmth of the surrounding interior.

Positioned near the main entrance, the installation establishes an immediate sense of place while offering a simple reminder of optimism and possibility. Rather than functioning as decoration, the sculpture becomes part of the arrival experience, greeting travelers, visitors, and hotel staff throughout the day.
