About the Installation

Installed in the Jefferson Park Sculpture Garden, You Are Beautiful brings a simple message of encouragement to one of Chicago's busiest neighborhood intersections.

Funded by the Rabb Family Foundation, the 37-foot-long sculpture is fabricated from recycled HDPE plastic and designed to withstand Chicago's changing seasons while remaining welcoming and approachable. Positioned at Lawrence and Long, the installation becomes part of the daily experience of the neighborhood, encountered by people walking, biking, driving, and gathering nearby.

Rather than existing as an object to observe from a distance, the work is intended to become part of everyday life, offering a brief moment of reflection through a familiar phrase encountered in the public realm.
