About the Installation

Commissioned by Milwaukee Downtown, You Are Beautiful transformed a long construction wall into a vibrant public mural in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.

Inspired by the original You Are Beautiful sticker, the mural recreated hundreds of overlapping stickers at an architectural scale. What began as a small object shared between people became an immersive public artwork stretching across an entire city block.

Installed during a period of significant change downtown, the mural demonstrated how temporary public art can activate everyday spaces, adding color, energy, and a welcoming message while inviting people to stop, explore, and interact with the city around them.

Although the mural was temporary, it became a recognizable landmark and showed how even short-term public art can leave a lasting impression.
